The third Arctic Circle Assembly will be held, as the previous years, in Reykjavik, on October 16-18, 2015. However, this year,for the first time, two additional events will be hosted, the first in Alaska (August 23-25, 2015) and the second in Singapore (November 12th, 2015), both under the umbrella of the Arctic Circle Assembly.

The 1st Central European Polar Meeting will be held from 10th to 13th November 2015, at theAustrian Academy of Sciences, Vienna. This meeting is a memorial to the Austrian polar explorer and scientist Julius Payer (1841-1915), to commemorate his achievements for the international polar sciences. It is jointly organized by the Committee on Polar Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Centre for Polar Ecology, Czech Republic, and the Austrian Polar Research Institute, in cooperation with the National Committee for Global Change of the Austrian Academy of Sciences.

The Alaskan Arctic, a Summit on Shipping and Ports, will be held onAugust 23–25, 2015 atHotel Captain Cook - Anchorage, Alaska. The summit isconvened under the umbrella of the Arctic Circle as the first in a series of issues-based forums held around the world.

The five states that surround the central Arctic Ocean – Canada, the Kingdom of Denmark in respect of Greenland, the Kingdom of Norway, the Russian Federation, and the United States of America – met in Oslo on July 16 to sign a declaration to prevent unregulated commercial fishing in high seas portion of the central Arctic Ocean.

On July 8th 2015, the Chinese general cargo Yong Sheng, has started its second Arctic voyage. The cargo leftDalian Port inLiaoning Province (People's Republic of China) and it is expected to arrive at Varberg Port in Sweden around the middle of August and back to China by October. The Yong Sheng will followthe Northern Sea Route, off the coasts of the Russian Federation.
