Participants of the Creative Business Forum session ‘North-South: Using Ethnocultural Heritage as a Resource for Sustainable Development’, which was held on the opening day of EEF 2022, talked about preserving the traditions and lifestyles of the Indigenous Peoples of the Russian North. The event was a part of the plan of Russia’s Chairmanship of the Arctic Council, and the Roscongress Foundation is operating chairmanship events.

The IK Foundation, The University of Iceland and The Embassy of Sweden in Iceland are working together to establish an autonomous research station, The Field Station | Naturae Observatio | Solander’s Eye, on Breiðamerkursandur, more specifically on Jökulnes.

The Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars has named Dr. Rebecca Pincus as the new Director of its Polar Institute. An expert on Arctic geopolitics and national and international security in the Arctic, Dr. Pincus has a particular focus on US Arctic security strategy and policy.
