A new study has been published by members of the APPLICATE consortium in the journal Advances in Atmospheric Sciencesin which methods from numerical weather prediction are employed to understand how the Arctic influences weather and climate in mid-latitudes.

The 3rd Korean Arctic Academy took place from the 5th til the 15th of July. The Academy is hosted by Korea Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, co-organized by Korea Maritime Insitute ( KMI ), Korea Polar Research Institute ( KOPRI ) and the University of the Arctic and mostly held at KMI in Busan.

With the successful operations of CNARC fellowship program for the past three years, CNARC Secretariat is about to launch its Fellowship Program for Year 2017 - 2018. From June 29 to July 2, 2017 a meeting of the Northern Forum Regional Coordinators Committee was held in Khanty-Mansiysk.The meeting brought together coordinators and representatives of the Northern Forum member regions, potential member regions, experts, the Northern Forum project participants, chairs and members of working groups of the organization. Representatives of such regions as Krasnoyarsk Krai, Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Akureyri, Lapland, Alaska, Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, Kamchatka Krai, Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Primorsky Krai and Arkhangelsk Oblast attended the event.
