The latest data on Arctic sea ice extent suggests that 2016 might see the second lowest minimum extent, at least since satellites started observing Arctic sea ice extent in 1979.

New 3-D topographic maps of Alaska were recently released to help with better decision-making in the US Arctic state, according to The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency website.

Live Streaming of YOPP Activities Planning

From September 5-9, 2016, activities during the upcoming Year of Polar Prediction (YOPP) will be planned in Reading, UK. A web stream will be available from Monday 12:00 pm (GMT+1) to follow the two meetings online throughout the week, according to the Polar Prediction Project (PPP) web-site.
